Do you ever find yourself totally distracted? You are doing “it” but your mind is somewhere else? Beyond the fact that you are likely not as effective at “it” as you might be (no, there really is no such thing as multi-tasking!), you are also missing out on life itself, missing out on what is REALLY here in this moment.
Here are a few ideas to help you be more present to your life, to practice self-management:
- When negative voices are loud in your head … call on your deepest truth to manage or quiet their commentary
- When the “current situation” seems unbearable and you are filled with judgmental thoughts … manage those thoughts by directing them to the back seat and invite curiosity forward to see more of what is truly here now
- When you are absolutely certain your “way” is the “right way” and impatience has taken over … pause to manage your ego long enough to allow others their expression and discover their way – perhaps “our way” will emerge!
- When saboteurs like fear or anxiety show up … manage these saboteurs long enough to recall your dreams, goals, and the vision of your future that is calling you to move through the discomfort
How might the tool of self-management help you in your day-to-day life?
