Who are you?
You are an amazing, living being with access to inner wisdom, intuitive knowing and unlimited creativity. You have within you all it takes to discern “next right steps” for your life and the ability to take those steps.
Who in your life sees you for who you really are?
Here’s the thing. Many of us don’t have that someone. Most of us have persons in our lives who would tell us what we should do, what is right for us, and where we go astray. Often we’ve listened so intently to these messages from family members, teachers, employers, “friends” that we’ve lost any sense of inner direction, of trust in ourselves, of belief that we have more to offer to life, more to create with our lives. And we have internalized outer voices so well that we can play them back with utmost clarity at any time and in any situation in order to snuff out creativity, hopes and dreams.
Sound familiar?
The practice of life coaching offers a fresh idea. There is an acronym that every powerful coach holds true about their clients:
NCRW: (N)aturally (C)reative, (R)esourceful and (W)hole
Our clients have their own answers, are wise, are able to connect with inner resources and creativity in service of their powerful, fulfilling lives. Each client is whole and desiring more – not flawed and needing to be fixed.
I’d like to invite you into this idea for yourself. You are not in need of fixing. You don’t need others to tell you what is right for you. You are so much more than you have realized for yourself in your life to-date. Yes! No matter how far you’ve traveled, you are more than you know!
Today, when you are tempted to look outside yourself for guidance, when you feel stuck and uncertain, stop. Step into a vision of yourself as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. From here, ask:
What is my answer?
What wisdom do I need to remember?
What is right for me here?
If I believed in myself, what step would I take?
