What is your YAY?

What is your YAY?

SignsOfTheTimes4By6

Yes, that IS what I mean! What are you celebrating? What are you proud of? What bit of magic or delight have you created today? Say it. Go on! Stand up and shout to world: “I just … and it is so frickin’ awesome!”

What? You’re uncomfortable?
Ain’t no way you would do that
?

What’s that about? Why is it that so often conversations center around what’s wrong, what we feel bad about, what ails us or the world at large?

Rather than dig into the why which often doesn’t do much good, I am challenging you to break the mold and simply model something different:

Share your YAY!

Then notice. Notice the impact in you when you dare to feel proud, good about yourself. Notice the impact on others when you express it. Then, invite them to join you. Ask your friends, your colleagues, your partner, your children:

What is your YAY?

Imagine sitting around the dinner table and hearing celebrations. Imagine starting a meeting at work with each person celebrating a recent accomplishment. Imagine we focused on the positive more than the negative. Imagine!

What are you proud of today?
How did you brighten our world today?
What is your YAY?

The Art of YOU!

TheArtOfYou

How would it feel to embrace your life as a work of art and you the artist … every color selection, every brush stroke, a mindful addition to your personal creation?

I’m curious how you receive that idea.  Does it fill you with warmth and desire to get to know who you are and how you want to live this precious life? Does it sound selfish?

Here’s something for you to ponder. You are unique. You alone can discover who you were meant to be, the talents that are yours to develop and share, the service that is yours to give, the ideas that you, and only you, can share with humanity in service of the greater good. There is nothing selfish about daring to discover passion and purpose then mindfully developing your “life art” and letting it be seen.

Bring to mind someone whose full embrace of their personal gifts has greatly impacted you – perhaps an amazing teacher, mentor, parent,  musician, artist, actor – maybe even your own child.

What would be missing in your life without this person?

What are you withholding …
from those in your circle of influence?

What will it feel like …
to embrace The Art of YOU?

A story that must be told …

Soul’s Desire Inspiration Card

Recently I wrote about the stories we tell over and over again and, in which, we get lost:

Lost in the Story

Today’s message is about the “I” that gets lost in the story. You came to this life as a unique and precious individual soul essence. You alone can discover who you are, what you are passionate about, who you will BE in this lifetime and what is yours to DO. You have a unique story to tell with the choices you make each and every day.

Maybe you don’t think this is possible. Maybe you don’t believe it. Maybe what I am writing is pure heresy to you. Maybe you have tried to be you and been shut down, put down, over and over and have given up. If any of this rings true, I would like for you to hear: “Try again. Your unique essence, your voice, is needed. Who you are matters!”

Here are just a few questions to jumpstart your exploration into who you are:

Who are you?
What do you stand for?
What is your deeper essence?
What is your conscience telling you?
What inner conviction do you ignore?
What potential is locked inside?
What purpose is worth it?

Who do you need to BE?

CutToTheCore

Bring to mind a situation, relationship, belief that both challenges you and that you are ready to experience shift around.

Got it?  Now:

  • What more can you say more about that?
  • What do you want?
  • What is the deeper truth here?
  • What needs to wake up in you in order to bring this truth to light?
  • Who do you need to BE in order to achieve this?

What do you argue for?

“Argue for your limits and sure enough they’re yours”. Richard Bach

Think about this. How often do you say:

I couldn’t do that …
I don’t know how …
The thought of doing that scares me …

Guess what? You’ll never be able  to do it, you’ll never know how, if you never try! Keep on affirming that you can’t and it will become your reality. Or … consider a new message and argue for possibility!

I’ve never done it, but I’m willing to try!
I don’t think I know how but I’m sure I could learn!
I notice that I’m a bit scared to consider that …
but I’m willing to interpret that fear as excitement …
and do it anyway!

Just try it. Try it on something small first. Be sure to take the time to notice how it feels to “do it anyway”.

What’s happens when you argue for possibility?
